	Remove/install
	Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects.	Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.	AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
	Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts		AH00.00-N-0001-01A
1	Move selector lever to position "D".
2	Raise vehicle with vehicle lift	The vehicle must be horizontal.	AR00.60-P-1000V
3	Remove rear diagonal struts	Only tighten bolts of diagonal struts when the vehicle is on its wheels in the curb condition.

4	Lower exhaust system as far as possible until the heat shield can be shoved to the rear	Transmission jack 0.5 t	AR49.10-P-7140-04VA

	Risk of injury caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts	Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts. Deburr repair panels.	AS00.00-Z-0017-01A
5	Release heat shield and slide to rear until the locking plate (1b) is accessible	The shift rod (2) must be adjusted before installing the heat shield.

6	Unclip locking plate (1a) using a screwdriver and unhook shift rod (2) from range selector lever (3)	Replace locking plate (1a).
7	Detach shift rod (2) from below at intermediate lever (4)	Model 171 Note locking plate variants.
	Gearshift rod locking plate on intermediate lever changed		BT27.60-P-0021-01A
8	Take out shift rod (2)
9	Install in the reverse order
	Adjust
10	Remove grub screw (5) from gearshift head (2a)
11	Check that range selector lever (3) and intermediate lever (4) are in correct position.	Range selector lever (3) and intermediate lever (4) must be in position "D".
12	Screw new grub screw (5) into gearshift head (2a)	Counterhold the head (2a) when tightening the grub screw (5). Do not move range selector lever (3) and intermediate lever (4) from position "D".

13	Perform function test
