	Remove/install
	Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge		AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1	Connect diagnostic system and perform initial startup of front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)	When replacing the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
			AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2	Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key
3	Remove retaining clips (9)	Model 212
4	Unclip washer fluid hose (2)	Model 204, 207, 212, 218
5	Remove cap (1)
6	Disconnect electrical connector (4) and guide electrical line out of fuse box
7	Remove bolts (arrows A) and guide out front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) until electrical connectors are accessible	Make sure that electrical lines are not pinched The electrical system may otherwise be damaged. Unscrew the bolts (arrows A) using a 50 mm long Torx bit T20. The bolts (arrows A) remain in the housing of the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1). Model 204.9, 212, 218 Push back the air-water channel in the area above the cover (1) until the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) can be removed.
8	Detach all electrical connections from front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) and then remove front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)	The circuit 30 electrical connectors (5, 6, 7) must be disconnected first and connected last Short circuits can otherwise occur. The number of electrical connectors depends on the vehicle equipment. Release and disconnect the electrical connectors (5, 6) by pushing the tabs in the direction of the arrows (arrows B, C) using an extraction hook. The contact blade (8) must be pushed all the way forward into the connector housing of the electrical connectors (5, 6).

9	Compare fuse and relay assignments of new front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) with those of old front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)	When replacing the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1). If variations exist: ↓ Adapt the assignments.
10	Install electrical wiring harness for actuation of starter relay between connector 6I, pin 4 and connector 2I, pin 12 on front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)	Model 204 with CODE 807 (Model year 2007) Model 204 with CODE 808 (Model year 2008) Model 204 with CODE 809 (Model year 2009) When replacing the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
11	Install in the reverse order
