Map data, operating data and information data are displayed on the Audio/COMMAND display; the Audio/COMMAND display thus fulfills the following additional tasks:
Location
The Audio/COMMAND display is fitted to the top center of the instrument panel.
- Reading in of signals
- Evaluation of input factors
Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in over the following connections
- Telematics CAN (CAN A)
- LVDS connection (low voltage differential signal)
Telematics CAN
The Audio/COMMAND display receives control signals (e.g. brightness, on or off display) over the telematics CAN. LVDS connection
The Audio/COMMAND display receives all of the information required display the content from the audio equipment via the LVDS interface.
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated internally.
Variants
As of 01.03.2016, a permanent 7"-TFT color screen will be installed.
Up to 29.02.2016, differentiation can be made between the variants "ENTRY" and "High" as follows:
"ENTRY" variant (on code 510 (Audio 20 CD with CD changer, 6-disk) or with code 523 (Audio 20 CD)):
- Permanent 5.8"-TFT color screen
- 400X240 pixel resolution
"High" variant (with code 527 (COMMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation)) or code 512 (COMMAND APS incl. DVD changer)):
- Permanent 7"-TFT color screen
- 800X480 pixel resolution
