REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Connect diagnostic unit and perform initial startup of Audio/COMAND® display (A40/8) When replacing Audio/COMAND® display (A408).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2 Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key or KEYLESS-GO start/stop button from electronic ignition lock control unit IMPORTANT KEYLESS-GO start/stop button only with CODE 889 (KEYLESS-GO).  
3 Unclip covers (1) in direction of arrow SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 2
4 Remove bolts (2)    
5 Unclip frame with air vent (3) from instrument panel (4) SPECIAL TOOL Extraction hook Fig 3
6 Remove bolts (5) IMPORTANTRemoval:  Screws/bolts (5) remain on the Audio/COMAND® display (A40/8).  
7 Pull Audio/COMAND® display (A40/8) out of instrument panel (4) until electrical connectors (6) are accessible    
8 Disconnect electrical connectors (6) and remove Audio/COMAND® display (A40/8)    
9 Install in the reverse order
