Function requirements for video operation in general 

• Status circuit 30g ON
• Transport mode not active
• Video DVD inserted into DVD/CD magazine of COMAND controller unit (A40/3)

Video mode, general 

The DVD drive of the COMAND controller unit supports playback of video DVDs. The video picture is shown on the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8) once the "Video" menu and the corresponding submenu have been activated.

The system can be operated using the Audio/COMAND control panel (A40/9), buttons on the COMAND controller unit.

Function sequence for video mode 

The picture signals are transmitted via a separate video line within the COMAND controller unit. The COMAND controller unit sends the picture data to the Audio/COMAND display over a low voltage differential signaling (LVDS) line.

On vehicles except CODE 810 (Sound system), the COMAND controller unit emits the audio signals over the speaker system.

On vehicles with code (810) Sound system, the COMAND controller unit forwards the audio signals over the Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) to the sound system amplifier control unit.
