Remove/Install Passenger Airbag Unit - AR91.60-P-0680LF

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Switch on ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m)    
2 Disconnect ground line to battery   AR54.10-P-0003LF
3 Remove glove compartment (1)   AR68.10-P-1400LF
4 Cover door sill and door sill molding with door sill protector 000 588 08 98 00 Cover    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS     WS98.00-P-0014B
5 Remove right A-pillar paneling   AR68.30-P-4050LF
6 Unscrew bolt (5) from instrument panel    
7 Release and disconnect electrical connectors (arrow A) from front passenger airbag (2)    
8 Release and disconnect electrical connectors (arrows B) from front passenger airbag (2)    
9 Unscrew nuts (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, front passenger airbag unit to instrument panel *BA91.60-P-1001-011 
10 Lift instrument panel with assistant far enough to enable the front passenger airbag (2) to be removed NOTES Do not lift instrument panel too high. Otherwise, the instrument panel may be damaged.  
11 Remove front passenger airbag (2) together with bracket (4)    
12 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check     
13 Check and erase vehicle fault memory using diagnostic system When replacing front passenger airbag (2).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04B
