Cleaning System, Function - GF82.35-P-3011LF
Model 217, 222 with CODE 610 (Night View Assist)
Function requirements, general
- Low beam ON
- "Engine running" or "drive train operational" signal on
The low beams can be switched on by the auto on/off driving lights, daytime running lamps or manually. The front SAM control unit (N10/6) personally generates the "Low beams ON" status in accordance with the pending request.
The "Engine running" or "Drive train operational" signal is sent by the CDI control unit (N3/9) (with diesel engine) or the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) (with gasoline engine) via drive train CAN (CAN C1), powertrain control unit (N127), chassis FlexRay (Flex E), electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) and interior CAN (CAN B) to the front SAM control unit.
Cleaning system, general
The cleaning system implements the automatic cleaning of the cover on the radiator trim.
The Night View Assist infrared camera 2 (B84/11) is located below the cover on the radiator trim.
Function sequence for cleaning system
Following each fifth operation of the windshield washer system using the combination switch (S4), the cleaning system is automatically activated.
The steering column tube module control unit (N80) reads in the switch position of the combination switch directly and sends it to the front SAM control unit via the chassis FlexRay, electronic ignition lock control unit and interior CAN. The front SAM control unit then actuates the Night & Day View Assist long-range camera washer fluid pump (M5/2) directly.
The Night & Day View Assist long-range camera washer fluid pump starts supplying washer fluid. A nozzle below the Night View Assist infrared camera 2 enables the washer fluid to spray onto the cover for the Night View Assist infrared camera 2.
After another five wash requests, the Night & Day View Assist long-range camera washer fluid pump is actuated again.
The number of washing requests is recorded by a counter in the front SAM control unit. The counter is automatically reset when five wash requests are reached or manually by switching off circuit 15. The status of circuit 15 is sent by the electronic ignition lock control unit via interior CAN to the front SAM control unit.
