REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Open the stowage compartment (2).    
2 Remove the rubber insert from the stowage compartment (2).    
3 Remove bolts (5).    
4 Remove the cover (3) on the center console (1).   AR68.20-P-2350LF 
5 Remove the cup holder in the rear. Model 222.1/9
up to model year 2018
with code 224 (Rear individual seat design)
 
      AR68.00-P-5204LF 
6 Remove the Rear Seat Entertainment system control unit (A26/18). Model 222
up to model year 2018
with code P46 (Rear-Seat Entertainment Package)
except code 224 (Rear individual seat design)
 
      AR82.60-P-7697LF
7 Unscrew the screws and remove the holder for the Rear Seat Entertainment system control unit (A26/18). Model 222.0/1/9

8 Release and disconnect the electrical connections (15, 16, 17).    
9 Open the cover of the center console armrest (1).    
10 Remove the rear center console (1). Model 217

11 Remove the multimedia connection unit (A90/5) in the front stowage compartment.   AR82.60-P-1032LF
12 Remove cover (8). Model 217, 222
up to model year 2018
with code 386 (Comfort telephony)

with code 856 (Business telephony in rear passenger compartment)

13 Remove the soft top control switch (S84). Model 217.4
up to model year 2018

14 Remove screw/bolts (6).    
15 Unscrew the bolts (30). Model 217
up to model year 2018

with code 224 (Rear individual seat design)
 
16 Open the stowage compartment (18) on the instrument panel.    
17 Remove screws (19).    
18 Release and disconnect the electrical connection on the stowage compartment (18) and remove the stowage compartment (18).    
19 Lift the center console (1). IMPORTANT Press cross strut down on center console (1) below stowage compartment in instrument panel. The cover (4) falls off the COMAND control unit (A40/3) when the center console (1) is lifted.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Clip molding (4) into COMAND control unit (A40/3).
IMPORTANT Helper required.
 
20 Release and disconnect electrical connector (7). Model 217
up to model year 2018

21 Release and disconnect the electrical connection for the touchpad on the center console (1). Model 217, 222.0/1
up to model year 2018
with code 318 (Touchpad with rotary push-button)
Model 222.9
up to model year 2018 with code 448 (Touchpad)
 
22 Release and disconnect the electrical connections under the center console (1). IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors varies according to vehicle equipment.  
23 Remove the center console (1) toward the rear from the vehicle. IMPORTANT Helper required.  
24 Install in the reverse order.
