	Disconnect, connect
1	Open hood.
2	Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m).	All electrical consumers must be switched off. Otherwise they or the on-board electrical system battery (G1) may be damaged when disconnecting/connecting the ground line (3).
3.1	Expose on-board electrical system battery (G1) in trunk or load compartment. 3.2	Remove cover (1) and expose on-board electrical system battery (G1). 4	Disconnect charger of on-board electrical system battery (G1).	When an external charger is connected.
5	Disconnect diagnostic unit.	If a diagnostic device is connected.

6	Undo nut (2) and remove ground line (3) from negative pole of on-board electrical system battery (G1). 7	Using a diode test lamp, check on-board electrical system for voltage between positive line of on-board electrical system battery (G1) and disconnected ground line (3). 8	Connect in reverse order.
	Check
9	Check time display.	If there is a problem, ↓ set proper time.
