	Remove/install
1	Remove front left or right wheel and tire assembly.		AR40.10-P-1102ME
2	Transfer the pneumatic pressure of the suspension strut into the central reservoir using the diagnostic system.

		The complete wheels must not touch the ground. Otherwise the suspension struts may suffer initial damage and malfunction at a later stage Select menu item "Actuations" in active suspension and damping system control unit.
3	Relieve threaded connection of shock absorber (8) on lower control arm (3) and release.

4	Remove nut (4) and take out screw (2).	Self-locking nut, shock absorber to wishbone	*BA32.25-P-1002-01O
5	Remove nut (7) and detach steering knuckle (6) from upper transverse control arm (5).	Self-locking nut, upper ball joint out of upper transverse control arm to steering knuckle	*BA33.20-P-1001-01W
6	Secure steering knuckle (6) against tipping over using suitable means.
7	Lower the lower control arm (3) until the shock absorber mount (1) is accessible.

8	Press out shock absorber mount (1) toward front.	Do not exceed a pressure of 140 bar. Otherwise, the shock absorber mount (1) will be damaged. Press in shock absorber mount (1) from front to back. Observe marking.

9	Thoroughly clean bearing surfaces of shock absorber mount (1) on lower control arm (3) and check for damage.	If damage is present, ↓ replace lower control arm (3).

10	Install in the reverse order.
