Function requirements for front camera video recording, general
- Circuit 30t ON
- A suitable USB (Universal Serial Bus) device is connected through the multimedia connection unit or through the front center console USB port (with code 896 (Vehicle access and drive authorization through mobile phone), code 897 (Wireless mobile phone charging) or code 899 (Multifunction telephony)) to the head unit.
Front camera video recording, general
The function enables the camera image of the Augmented Reality camera to be recorded and stored on a USB device. Operation and control are carried out via the head unit. The user can select the following settings:
- Recording mode (single recording or loop recording)
- Automatic recording (switch on or off)
- Warning at border crossings (switch on or off)
The use of the video recording function is prohibited by law in some countries.
Function sequence for front camera video recording
If the user activates the function using the head unit, the head unit switches on the augmented reality camera over the user interface CAN. The augmented reality camera sends the video images to the head unit over an HSVL line.
The head unit forwards the video images over the multimedia connection unit to the USB device, or over the multimedia connection unit and front center console USB port (with code 896 (Vehicle access and drive authorization through the mobile phone), code 897 (Wireless mobile phone charging) or code 899 (Multifunction telephony)). The video images are stored on the USB device as video files.
The video data can be shown on the Audio/COMAND® display.
