Model 190, 197, 205, 212, 213, 217, 218, 222, 231, 253, 290 except code B07 (AMG - ceramic brake system)
Model 205 with code B07 (AMG - ceramic brake system) and brake disks (1) with a cast iron friction ring on rear axle If soiling (e.g. oil, grease) is present, 1 clean brake disks (1) with a cast iron friction ring; replace, if necessary.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.

1.2 Assess brake disks (1) with a ceramic friction ring for soiling. Model 190, 197, 205, 212, 213, 217, 218, 222, 231, 253, 290 with code B07 (AMG - ceramic brake system) If the brake disks (1) with a ceramic friction ring are soiled with oil or grease,

replace brake disks (1) with a ceramic friction ring.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.

2.1 Assess brake disks (1) with a cast iron friction ring for damage, score marks, cracks and corrosion. Model 117, 118, 156, 164, 166, 167, 169, 171, 172, 176, 177, 203, 204, 207, 209, 211, 216, 219, 221, 230, 238, 242, 245, 246, 247, 251, 257, 292, 293, 453, 461, 463
Model 190, 197, 205, 212, 213, 217, 218, 222, 231, 253, 290 except code B07 (AMG - ceramic brake system)
Model 205 with code B07 (AMG - ceramic brake system) and brake disks (1) with a cast iron friction ring on rear axle

IMPORTANT For brake disks (1) with a cast iron friction ring and bores, assess crack length (x) including bore diameter.
If the crack length (x) is > 25 mm (0.98 Inch) or if it extends up to the inner or outer edge of the friction ring, if there are gaping cracks or score marks deeper than 0.5 mm (0.02 Inch), or where pitted corrosion is present,

replace brake disks (1) with a cast iron friction ring.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.

2.2 Assess brake disks (1) with a ceramic friction ring for damage. Model 167, 190, 197, 205, 212, 213, 217, 218, 222, 231, 253, 290 with code B07 (AMG - ceramic brake system)
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   IMPORTANT The wear on the brake disks (1) with a ceramic friction ring cannot be assessed through a visual check! If there is damage to the brake disk (1) with a ceramic friction ring that makes its replacement necessary,

replace brake disk (1) with a ceramic friction ring.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
AR42.10-P-0290-01RG
3.1 Assess brake disks (1) with a cast iron friction ring for wear. Model 117, 118, 156, 164, 166, 167, 169, 171, 172, 176, 177, 203, 204, 207, 209, 211, 216, 219, 221, 230, 238, 242, 245, 246, 247, 251, 257, 292, 293, 453, 461, 463
Model 190, 197, 205, 212, 213, 217, 218, 222, 231, 253, 290 except code B07 (AMG - ceramic brake system)
Model 205 with code B07 (AMG - ceramic brake system) and brake disks (1) with a cast iron friction ring on rear axle Brake disks (1) with a cast iron friction ring and with wear bores.

Notice  Notes on evaluating brake disks with and without wear holes If outer wear bore (11), center wear bore (12) and the inner wear bore (13) are visible,

Brake disks (1) with a cast iron friction ring are OK; new brake pads can still be installed on the brake disks (1) with cast iron friction ring. If the inner wear bore (13) is visible,

Brake disks (1) with a cast iron friction ring are OK; the current brake pads can still be used, do not install any new brake pads onto the brake disk (1) with cast iron friction ring. If none of the three wear bores are visible,

replace brake disks (1) with a cast iron friction ring.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order. If, in exceptional cases, assessment of the brake disks (1) with a cast iron friction ring is not possible through a visual check,

check condition of brake disks (1) with a cast iron friction ring.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
