  Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
  Notes on handling, transport and storage of composite brake disks   AH42.10-P-9406-12LF
  Notes on threaded connections fastened using a tightening angle-based tightening process   AH00.00-P-0020-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Shift transmission to N position.    
2 Secure vehicle on vehicle lift.   AR00.60-P-0100CW
3 Drain pressure of air suspension at rear axle using vehicle diagnosis system.    
REFER TO SELF DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04B
4 Remove rear wheels.   AR40.10-P-1102A
5.1 Release left and right underfloor paneling in area of stop plates (8). Model 213.064 AR61.30-P-1001LWE
5.2 Remove left and right underfloor paneling. Model 213.264 AR61.30-P-1001LWE
6 Remove diagonal struts. Model 213.264  
7 Remove exhaust system. Model 213.064/264 with engine 276.8 except code 598 (Gasoline particulate filter (OPF) with sensor system) AR49.10-P-7142MND
8 Remove propeller shaft from rear axle differential, place to one side and fix in place.   AR41.10-P-0050LW
9 Unclip electric lines from holders for level sensors.    
10 Disconnect electrical connectors from level sensors and place electric lines to one side.    
11 Unhook electric lines (5) from holders (6).    
12 Remove screws (7) from stop plates (8).    
13 Support rear axle using an assembly mount and mounting plate.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 11 62 00 Major assembly mount   WS01.00-P-0092B
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 10 62 00 Support plate   WS26.00-P-3309B
14 Unscrew screws (9) and remove stop plates (8). NOTES Do not use an impact wrench.
Otherwise, the threads will be damaged.
 
15 Carefully lower rear axle at front.    
16 Remove both torsion bar linkages (2) from stabilizer bar (1).   AR32.35-P-3329MNE 
17 Remove level sensors with holders from rear axle carrier (3) and place to one side.   AR82.10-P-0005LW
18 Take stabilizer bar (1) off of rear axle carrier (3) and remove.    
INSTALLING Install     
19 Check elastomer bearings (4) for wear and damage. In the event of a problem,

Replace stabilizer bar (1).
 
20 Attach stabilizer bar (1) to rear axle carrier (3). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, torsion bar to rear axle carrier *BA32.20-P-1002-04S 
21 Attach level sensors with holders to rear axle carrier (3).   AR82.10-P-0005LW
22 Attach both torsion bar linkages (2) to stabilizer bar (1).   AR32.35-P-3329MNE 
23 Carefully lift and position rear axle at front.    
24 Clean threads of screws (9) in frame floor assembly using compressed air and ensure that threaded inserts are correctly seated.    
25 Position stop plates (8) and screw in screws (9). NOTES Do not use an impact wrench.
Otherwise, the threads will be damaged.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Self-locking bolt securing front decoupling element of rear axle carrier to frame floor assembly *BA35.10-P-1001-01H 
26 Remove major assembly support and support plate.    
27 Position stop plates (8) and screw in screws (7). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, stop plate to body *BA35.10-P-1003-01H 
28 Hook electric lines (5) onto holders (6).    
29 Connect electrical connectors to level sensors and clip in electric lines.    
30 Clip electric lines into holders of level sensors.    
31 Attach propeller shaft at rear axle differential.   AR41.10-P-0050LW
32 Install exhaust system. Model 213.064/264 with engine 276.8 except code 598 (Gasoline particulate filter (OPF) with sensor system) AR49.10-P-7142MND
33 Install diagonal struts. Model 213.264
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, rear diagonal strut to spare wheel well/body
*BA61.10-P-1008-01L 
34.1 Install left and right underfloor paneling. Model 213.264 AR61.30-P-1001LWE
34.2 Secure left and right underfloor paneling in area of stop plates (8). Model 213.064 AR61.30-P-1001LWE
35 Mount rear wheels.   AR40.10-P-1102A
36 Build up pressure of air suspension at rear axle using vehicle diagnosis system.    
REFER TO SELF DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04B
37 Disconnect vehicle from vehicle lift.   AR00.60-P-0100CW
38 Perform chassis alignment.   AR40.20-P-0200LW
