Remove/Install DC/DC Converter For 48 V On-Board Electrical System - AR54.10-P-1351MFA

Model 118, 177, 247

WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray.
Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant.
Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Disconnect ground line of 12-volt on-board electrical system battery.   AR54.10-P-0003MFA 
2 Release and disconnect electrical connectors at ME control unit. Model 118, 177, 247 with engine 282 with code B01 (48V technology) AR07.08-P-1000MFD
    Model 118 with engine 260 as of model year 2023
with code B01 (48V technology)
AR07.08-P-7011MFA
    Model 177, 247 with engine 260
as of model year 2022
with code B01 (48V technology)
 
3 Remove air filter housing. Model 118, 177, 247 with engine 260 with code B01 (48V technology) AR09.10-P-1150MFC
    Model 118, 177, 247 with engine 282 with code B01 (48V technology) AR09.10-P-1150MFD
4 Unclip electric line from cover (2).    
5 Unscrew screws (3) and take off cover (2). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, cover to DC/DC converter for 48 V on-board electrical system *BA54.10-P-1015-01D 
6 Remove trim (1).    
7 Seal coolant lines (4) with clamping devices and disconnect.   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ 1
    IMPORTANT Collect escaping coolant in a suitable container.

8 Remove positive lines (5) from DC/DC converter (48 V) control unit (N83/12). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, positive line to DC/DC converter for 48 V on-board electrical system *BA54.10-P-1013-01D 
9 Remove ground line (6) from DC/DC converter (48 V) control unit (N83/12). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, ground line to DC/DC converter for 48 V on-board electrical system *BA54.10-P-1014-01D 
10 Release and disconnect electrical connector (7).    
11 Unscrew screw (8) and remove DC/DC converter control unit (48 V) (N83/12). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, DC/DC converter for 48 V onboard electrical system to holder *BA54.10-P-1016-01D 
12 Install in the reverse order.    
13 Correct coolant and bleed engine cooling system. Model 118, 177, 247 with engine 260, 282 with code B01 (48V technology) AR20.00-P-1142-04A
    IMPORTANT Work procedure must be complied with when filling cooling system.  
    IMPORTANT Re-use clean coolant.

14 Commission DC/DC converter (48 V) control unit (N83/12).
