Notes On Avoiding Damage Through Contamination And Foreign Objects - AH00.00-P-5000-01A
Model all (4xWD, CAR, Light transporter, smart)
There is a danger of property damage caused by contamination and foreign objects with all maintenance and repair work conducted on the engine, high-voltage components, suspension components as well as its auxiliary assemblies and detachable parts.
Openings through which contamination or foreign objects could enter into the components should be immediately sealed with clean, suitable means, for example, stop plugs, protective hoods or clean, lint-free rags.
Do not forget to remove all covers, plugs or rags when assembling or when finalizing the work.
This prevents damage and complaints about components.
All components should be checked for soiling, remaining foreign bodies and fluids, and these should be remedied, before assembly or finalization work.
Information on cleaning
For cleaning, use only clean tools and clean, lint-free rags.
Residue from cleaning agents and loosened contaminants must be removed from the engine, high-voltage components, as well as its auxiliary assemblies and detachable parts.
Do not
use compressed air for removing any soiling.
Otherwise, component parts may be damaged and contamination may enter unnoticed into the engine, high-voltage components, auxiliary assemblies or detachable parts.
