	Remove
1	Remove cover above brake fluid expansion reservoir.
2	Clean area around cap on brake fluid expansion reservoir.	Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
3	Unscrew cap on brake fluid expansion reservoir and suction off some brake fluid.	This prevents the expansion reservoir overflowing when the brake piston is pushed back.
4	Remove front wheels.		AR40.10-P-1102MFA
5	Release and disconnect electrical connector (7) of right front brakepad wear sensor (S10/2).	When removal of brakepads (2) at front right.
6	Remove electrical wiring harness of right front brakepad wear sensor (S10/2) from brake caliper (8).	When removal of brakepads (2) at front right.
7	Remove brake hose (5) from holder (4).
8	Unscrew upper screw (1), replace with guide pin (6), and tighten guide pin (6) slightly.	Guide bolts	Fig 2
9	Unscrew lower screw (1), replace with guide pin (6) and tighten guide pin (6) slightly.	Guide bolts	Fig 2
10	Push brake caliper (8) with attached brake hose (5) to the side onto guide pin (6).	Do not crush or kink the brake hose (5) or subject it to tensile loads. This will result in damage to the brake hose (5) and can impair its function.
11	Remove brakepads (2) from brake caliper (8).
12	Unclip retaining spring (3) from brake caliper (8) and remove.	When replacing retaining spring (3) or brake caliper (8).
13	Pull right front brakepad wear sensor (S10/2) out of backing plate of brakepad (2).	When replacing brakepads (2) or when replacing front right brakepad wear sensor (S10/2). Pay attention to the installation location of the right front brakepad wear sensor (S10/2).
	Check
14	Check that retaining spring (3) is not damaged and is in good condition.	If there is a problem, ↓ replace retaining spring (3).
15	Check brakepads (2) for wear and condition.

17	Check brake caliper (8) for damage.	If there is a problem, ↓ Replace brake caliper (8).

18	Press back brake pistons with pusher tool.	Secure remaining brake pistons using two wedges against slipping out.

		Wedge If the brake pistons can only be moved sluggishly, ↓ replace brake caliper (8).	Fig 4

	Install
19	Clean contact surfaces of brakepads (2) on brake caliper (8) and on brake pistons.	Do not use sharp-edged or pointed objects. Otherwise the brake caliper (8) or the dust boots of the brake pistons can be damaged.

20	Insert right front brakepad wear sensor (S10/2) at backing plate of brakepad (2).	When replacing front right brakepads (2) or when replacing front right brakepad wear sensor (S10/2).
21	Install retaining spring (3) in brake caliper (8).	When replacing retaining spring (3) or brake caliper (8).
22	Insert brakepads (2).	Only sets of brakepads (2) approved by Mercedes-Benz may be installed.
23	Push brake caliper (8) onto axle carrier.
24	Unscrew lower guide pin (6), replace with screw (1) and tighten screw (1) slightly.
25	Unscrew upper guide pin (6), replace with screw (1) and tighten screw (1) slightly.
26	Tighten screws(1).	Bolt, brake caliper/brake caliper support to steering knuckle	*BA42.10-P-1001-10ZA
27	Attach electrical wiring harness of front right brakepad wear sensor (S10/2) to brake caliper (8).	When installing right front brakepads (2).
28	Connect electrical connector (7) of right front brakepad wear sensor (S10/2).	When installing right front brakepads (2).
29	Install brake hose (5) in holder (4).
30	Install front wheels.		AR40.10-P-1102MFA
31	Operate brake pedal several times until the brakepads (2) make contact with the brake disks.	Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.
	Check
32	Check and correct brake fluid level in expansion reservoir.

33	Perform brake test on test stand.
