The safety information in the superordinate service document must be observed.

IMPORTANT The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle for model 907.633 and must be performed in a similar manner for vehicles with damage on the right side of the vehicle.

  1. Install, fit, and fix in place inner part of rear-end center section (1), outer part of rear-end center section (2), and reinforcement (3, 4).

    IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 

    Clamping pliers (Standard)

  2. Remove outer part of rear-end center section (2) and reinforcements (3, 4).
  3. Inner part of rear-end center section (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas A and B).
  4. Model 907.6/7 with code IR2 (Wheelbase 3250 mm) Inner part of rear-end center section (1) SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD (area C).

  5. Inner part of rear-end center section (1) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (areas D, E1 and E2 ).

    NOTES Inert gas weld in intervals and allow to cool down in between.

    Heat distortion is reduced as a result.

  6. Clean weld joints (areas D, E1 and E2 ).

    Rotary wire brush

  7. Model 907.6/7 with code IR2 (Wheelbase 3250 mm) Clean weld joints (area C).

  8. Remove shavings.

    Wet and dry vacuum cleaner

  9. Install reinforcements (3, 4) and fit and fix in place.

    Clamping pliers (Standard)

  10. Vehicle floor (area F), reinforcement (3) (area G) and reinforcement (4) (areas H and I) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD
  11. Reinforcement (3) SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD (area J).
  12. Clean weld joints (area J).

    IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 

    Rotary wire brush

  13. Remove shavings.

    IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 

    Wet and dry vacuum cleaner

  14. Apply seam seal to soundproofing (5) (area K).

    IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 

    Squeeze gun

  15. Install soundproofing (5) into the inner part of the rear-end center section (1).

  16. Install, fit, and fix in place outer part of rear-end center section (2).

    Clamping pliers (Standard)

  17. Outer part of rear-end center section (2) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas M and N).
  18. Reinforcement (3) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area O).
  19. Reinforcement (4) (area Q), outer part of rear-end center section (2) (area R), and reinforcement (3) (area S) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD

    NOTES Inert gas weld in intervals and allow to cool down in between.

    Heat distortion is reduced as a result.

  20. Install and fit the bracket (7), hinges, and rear-end doors.

    IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 

    Clamping pliers (Standard)

  21. Adjust gap dimensions with SPECIAL TOOL feeler gauge and adjust.
  22. Fix the bracket (7) in place.
  23. Remove rear-end doors and hinges.
  24. Reinforcement (3) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (area L).
  25. Bracket (7) (area P) SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD .
  26. Clean weld joints (areas O, P, Q, R and S).

    Rotary wire brush

  27. Remove shavings.

    IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 

    Wet and dry vacuum cleaner
