- Clean contact surface in crosshatched area of roof paneling (2).
- Glue on masking tape in crosshatched area of roof paneling (2).
- Mark datum line (A) on masking tape.
The datum line (A) is marked vertically relative to the center of the cutout of the additional brake lamp.
- Transfer dimensions (b1 , b2 , c1 , c2 , d1 , d2 , e1 , e2 ) and associated datum lines (B1 , B2 , C1 , C2 , D1 , D2 , E1 , E2 ) to masking tape as shown.
- Drill holes (3) with 0 8 mm at intersection points of datum lines (B1 , B2 ) and at intersection points of datum lines (C1 , C2 ).
- Drill hole (4) at intersection point of datum lines (D1 , D2 ) to 0 24 mm using suitable stepped drill bit.
- Drill hole (5) at intersection point of datum lines (E1 , E2 ) to Ø 14 mm using suitable stepped drill bit.
- Deburr bores (3, 4, 5).
- Remove drilling chips.
- Apply zinc dust paint around bores (4, 5).
- File each bore (3) to square shape using file.
File bores (3) to an edge length of approx. 8 mm.
- Apply zinc dust paint around bores (3).
- Install expansion nuts (7).
- Guide coupling (9) outward through roof paneling (2).
- Connect plug (8) to coupling (9).
- Guide plug (8) with coupling (9) inward through roof paneling (2).
- Retrofit reversing camera (1).
To do so, screw in screws (10).
- Add cavity preservation in inner area of roof paneling (2).
