Front passenger airbag indicator lamp
On vehicles as of model year 2018, the activated or deactivated front passenger airbag is indicated via corresponding symbols in the center instrument panel display field.
Function requirements, general
- The Supplemental Restraint System must be programmed to the vehicle (left or right-hand drive vehicle, equipment programming, and configuration parameters).
- Circuit 15R ON
The electronic ignition lock control unit transmits the status of circuit 15 to the Supplemental Restraint System control unit via the user interface CAN.
After switching off circuit 15R, parts of the Supplemental Restraint System remain active for a certain run-on time.
Power reserve: The Supplemental Restraint System control unit ensures a power reserve for at least t = 300 ms after the voltage supply has been interrupted.
Supplemental restraint system, general information
The supplemental restraint system is intended for occupant protection and with CODE U60 (Active engine hood (Pedestrian protection)) for pedestrian protection.
In certain situations, extending the seat belt is blocked irrespective of the status of the Supplemental Restraint System.
