Remove/Install Automatic Transmission Fluid Cooler - AR27.55-P-1000MNM

Transmission 725.0 in model 217, 222 with engine 177

WARNING Risk of injury  . Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of transmission oil. Health risk caused by swallowing transmission oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not pour transmission oil into beverage bottles.

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove center and rear sections of lower engine compartment lining INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install center and rear lower rear engine compartment paneling again after leak test. AR61.20-P-1105LF
2 Drain coolant from low-temperature circuit   AR09.41-P-6834MNM
3 Remove oil lines (2, 4) from oil cooler (3) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs   AR27.10-P-0501-03LF
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 3
4 Remove coolant line (5) from oil cooler (3) and seal connections using protective covers   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
    SPECIAL TOOL Set of protective covers Fig 2
5 Unclip coolant lines (5, 7) from holder (1)    
6 Remove bolts (6) and remove oil cooler (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, oil cooler to transmission *BA27.55-P-1018-01D 
7 Remove bolts from holder (1) and remove holder (1) from oil cooler (3) When replacing oil cooler (3).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION M6X1 *BA00.10-P-1002-04A 
8 Install in the reverse order    
9 Check fluid level in automatic transmission and adjust to correct level   AR27.00-P-0270EWN
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
10 Perform engine test run and check oil cooler (3) and oil lines (2, 4) for proper operation and leak tightness    
11 Install center and rear sections of lower engine compartment lining   AR61.20-P-1105LF
