	Remove/install
1	Release pressure in AIRmatic system using diagnostic system
			AD00.00-P-2000-04B
2	Remove trim from side of C-pillar	Model 222.9 with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) except code 487 (Active Body Control (ABC))	AR68.30-P-4490LFA
		Model 222.0/1 with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) except code 487 (Active Body Control (ABC))	AR68.30-P-4490LF
3	Unclip speaker cover
4	Remove speaker (1)
5	Remove plug (2)
6	Separate soundproofing (3) at perforation (arrow A) using a suitable tool and remove section	Install the soundproofing (3) or section correctly. Acoustic problems can otherwise occur.
7	Cut service flap (4) into rear shelf at perforation (arrow B) and fold inward
8	Carefully separate soundproofing (3) over belt retractor at perforation (arrow C) and push toward rear
9	Detach pressure line (5) from corresponding suspension strut (7)	Pressure line to rear suspension strut/valve block	*BA32.22-P-1011-03F
10	Check pressure line (5) and pressure line connection		AR32.22-P-2001-02SX
		Screw/bolt, bracket of central reservoir to body	*BA32.22-P-1003-03F
		Leak detection spray	*BR00.45-Z-1002-03A
		Knife	Fig 3
		Socket wrench bit	Fig 2
		If pressure line connection or pressure line (5) is damaged ↓ Repair AIRmatic pressure line connection
11	Detach corresponding complete wheel		AR40.10-P-1102A
12	Disconnect electrical connectors (8) from suspension strut (7) and unhook from line bracket
13	Remove rear axle spring		AR32.20-P-0232LFS
14	Lower vehicle slightly
15	Unscrew nuts (6) from suspension strut (7) and remove suspension strut (7) from below	Screw/nut, suspension strut at rear to body	*BA32.25-P-1004-04O
	Check
16	Check suspension strut (7)	When reinstalling suspension strut (7).
		If suspension strut (7) is damaged ↓ Replace suspension strut (7)	AR32.25-P-1017-02SX
17	Dispose of damaged suspension strut (7) correctly	When replacing suspension strut (7).
		Observe disposal regulations.
18	Determine length of suspension strut (7)	Compare the determined length of the suspension strut (7) with the leaflet for the new suspension strut (7). If the determined length differs ↓ Do not install the new suspension strut (7)
19	Install in the reverse order
20	Check AIRmatic system for leak tightness		AR32.22-P-8100LF
21	Check vehicle level at rear axle with electronic inclination meter, correct if necessary		AR40.20-P-0301LF
