	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

	Remove/install
1	Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (at least 2 m)
2	Remove front engine compartment paneling		AR61.20-P-1105LF
3	Detach left fender liner from front bumper		AR88.10-P-1300LF
4	Unlock and disconnect electrical connectors (1, 2)
5	Open clamp (3) and pull off air intake hose	Plug air intake hose.
		Record plug	Fig 4
6	Detach pressure line (4) from AIRmatic compressor (A9/1)	Plug pressure line (4).
		Pressure line to air compressor/valve block	*BA32.22-P-1006-03F
		Record plug If pressure line (4) is damaged ↓ Repair AIRmatic pressure line connection.	Fig 4

7	Unscrew nuts (5) and remove AIRmatic compressor (A9/1)

8	Replace AIRmatic relay (K40/8kR)	When replacing AIRmatic compressor (A9/1).
	Assignment of engine fuse and relay module	Model 222 up to model year 2018 except code 487 (Active Body Control (ABC)) When replacing the AIRmatic compressor (A9/1), always replace the AIRmatic relay (K40/8kR) as its switching contacts may have been damaged previously.	GF54.15-P-1256-32LF
9	Transfer bearings with brackets	When replacing AIRmatic compressor (A9/1).
10	Install in the reverse order
	Check
11	Perform leak check		AR32.22-P-8100LF
	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
12	Perform engine test run and check AIRmatic for proper operation
