DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

  Preparatory activity     
1 Lift vehicle on vehicle lift    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR00.60-P-1000LF
INSPECT Check     
2 Check underfloor paneling when driving over obstacles or for any bottoming damage If the underfloor paneling exhibits any damage:

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order
 
REMOVING Remove     
3 Remove front center engine compartment paneling (1), center engine compartment paneling (2) and rear engine compartment paneling (3)    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR61.20-P-1105LF
INSPECT Check     
4 Check wheel bearing by firmly pulling, pushing and turning the wheels If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
5 Check front axle carrier (18) for cracks, deformation and corrosion If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
6 Check front diagonal struts (22) for cracks, deformation and corrosion Model 217.4
If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
7 Check shock absorber elastomer bearing (19) for cracks, deformation and wear, then check for play by firmly pulling and pushing If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
8 Check spring control arm (7) for cracks, deformation and corrosion If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
9 Check spring control arm elastomer bearing (8) for cracks, deformation and wear and for play by firmly pulling and pushing If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
10 Check strut rods (4) for cracks, deformation and corrosion If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
11 Check strut rod elastomer bearing (4a) for cracks, deformation and wear and for play by firmly pulling and pushing If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
12 Check stabilizer bar (9) for cracks, deformation and corrosion If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
13 Check stabilizer bar bushings (9a) for cracks, deformation and wear, then check stabilizer bar (9) for play by firmly pulling and pushing If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
14 Check spring control arm joint boots (6) for condition, leaktightness and correct seating If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
15 Check spring control arm joints (5) for deformation and wear, as well as for play by firmly pushing and pulling If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
16 Check strut rod joint boots (20) for condition, leaktightness and correct seating If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
17 Check strut rod joints (21) for deformation and wear, as well as for play by firmly pushing and pulling If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
18 Shift rail joint boots (12) for condition, leaktightness and correct seat If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
19 Check shift rail joints (10) for play by firmly pulling and pushing If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
20 Check shift rails (11) for deformation and corrosion If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
21 Check outer drive shaft boots (14) for condition, leaktightness and correct seating Model 217, 222 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)
If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
22 Check inner drive shaft boots (15) for condition, leaktightness and correct seating Model 217, 222 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)
If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
23 Check clamps (17) for cracks, deformation, corrosion and correct seating Model 217, 222 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)
If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
24 Check drive shafts (16) for cracks, deformation, corrosion and for play by firmly pushing and pulling Model 217, 222 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)
If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
25 Check linkage level sensor (13) for correct seating, cracks, deformation, corrosion and
play
Vehicle with level sensor.  
    If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
26 Check elastomer bearing for upper transverse control arm (24) for cracks, deformation and for play by firmly pulling and pushing If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
27 Check upper transverse control arm universal joint boots (25) for condition, leaktightness and correct seating If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
28 Check upper transverse control arm (23) for play by firmly pushing and pulling If complaint present

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
INSTALLING Install     
29 Install front center engine compartment paneling (1), center engine compartment paneling (2) and rear engine compartment paneling (3)
