REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove center front engine compartment paneling (1), center engine compartment paneling (2) and rear engine compartment paneling (3)    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR61.20-P-1105LF
INSPECT Check     
2 Check visible systems, powertrain components, lines, hoses on the underfloor for damage, correct routing, leaks, correct mounting and corrosion IMPORTANT Brake system, Spring elements, Shock absorber, Suspension lines and sensors, Steering, Front axle, Engine and mounted major assemblies, Cooling system, Heater and A/C system, Transmission, Exhaust system, Exhaust aftertreatment, Actuator motors of exhaust gas flaps, Heat shields, Rear axle, Rear axle shafts with boots, Rear axle differential, Fuel system. If a problem arises

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
3 Check visible systems, components, lines and hoses on the underfloor for damage, correct routing, leaks, correct mounting and corrosion Equipment-dependent.
IMPORTANT Hybrid components, 48 V components, Stationary heater, Boots of front axle shafts (4MATIC), Front axle transmission (4MATIC), Transfer case (4MATIC). If a problem arises

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
4 Check underfloor and visible components on underfloor for damage, routing, mounting and corrosion IMPORTANT Wheel well trim
Underfloor paneling, Underfloor.
If a problem arises

Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
 
5 Check visible body panels for corrosion and deformation IMPORTANT Wheel well body panels, Front axle carrier, Rear axle carrier, Chassis steering arms, Underfloor body panels, Body reinforcements. If a problem arises

proceed in accordance with the country-specific regulations for mobility and body shell complaints.
 
6 Check vehicle underside for evidence of driving over obstacles or damage caused by contact with the vehicle underside If driving over obstacles or damage caused by contact with the vehicle underside is suspected

check steering for mechanical damages. If the steering shows signs of mechanical damage.

Subject to separate repair order, replace steering for safety reasons.
 
INSTALLING Install     
7 Install center front engine compartment paneling (1), center engine compartment paneling (2) and rear engine compartment paneling (3)    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR61.20-P-1105LF
