Handling The Battery When Putting The Vehicle Into Storage - AR54.10-P-0006GZ

DANGER Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning  and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A 
  Check     
1 Check battery   AR54.10-P-1129GZ 
2 Disconnect ground line of battery (1) When the vehicle is laid up for more than 4 weeks.  
IMPORTANT This prevents any battery discharge caused by no-load current consumers. AR54.10-P-0003GZ 
3 Disconnect ground cable from additional battery When the vehicle is laid up for more than 4 weeks.
IMPORTANT This prevents any battery discharge caused by no-load current consumers.
 
4 Charge battery IMPORTANT When battery is disconnected every 6 months at the latest and when the battery is connected every 6 weeks at the latest. AR54.10-P-1130GZ
