	Remove/install
1	Remove rear wheel.		AR40.10-P-1102A
2	Remove cover from spring link (6).
3	Detach fender liner in rear fender in area of shock absorber.	Model 213	AR88.10-P-1400LWE
		Model 205, 253, 293	AR88.10-P-1400LW
4	Disconnect electrical connectors (9) and place lines to one side.	If electrically adjustable shock absorbers (4) are installed.
5	Unscrew nut (5) and pull screw out of spring link (6).	Self-locking nut, shock absorber to spring control arm	*BA32.25-P-1001-03P
6	Unscrew screws (7).	Bolt, shock absorber to body	*BA32.25-P-1002-03P
7.1	Press shock absorber (4) together and remove upward.	Model 205, 253, 293 Model 213.0/1 Model 213.2 except code 489 (AIRMATIC) : Ensure that the cutouts (arrows a) in suspension strut mount (12) match with the elevations (arrows b) in the body.
7.2	Press shock absorber (4) together as shown with tensioning strap (3) and remove upward.	Model 213.2 with code 489 (AIRMATIC) Make sure that the surface of the shock absorber (4) is not damaged by the ratchet (2) of the tensioning strap (3). Otherwise the shock absorber (4) must not be reused. : Ensure that the cutouts (arrows a) in suspension strut mount (12) match with the elevations (arrows b) in the body.
	Check
8	Check shock absorber (4) and seal (13) for damage and leakage.	Model 205, 213.1/2, 253, 293 Model 213.0 with code 489 (AIRMATIC) The shock absorber (4) is only available as an assembly with the suspension strut mount (12). If a problem arises ↓ Replace shock absorber (4) with suspension strut mount (12).
9	Check suspension strut mount (12).	Model 213 except code 489 (AIRMATIC) If a problem arises ↓ Replace suspension strut mount (12). I Removal  : Use socket wrench to remove the series nuts. : Replace self-locking nut. Use a commercially available long Allen key with a size of 5 mm and the deep socket with size of 16 mm from the socket set.

10	Install in the reverse order
