REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove detachable parts in area of repair point.    
2 Cover all detachable parts remaining in vehicle with spark protection blankets.    
3 Remove upper front longitudinal member. Model 238 See AR62.20-P-1286LWO .

REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS
Set up straightening bench with straightening bench crossmembers and straightening set. 000 588 01 23 00 Body straightening system   See WS60.00-P-0023K .
5 Place vehicle on straightening bench and fasten.    
6 Remove wheel well (1) and crossmember (2).   See AR62.20-P-1200-21LW .

Spot weld milling machine
Drill bit and milling cutter for high-strength steels

7 Remove firewall (3), pedal assembly cup (4) and firewall crossmember (5).   See AR62.25-P-1110-01LWE .

8 Prepare firewall (3), pedal assembly cup (4) and firewall crossmember (5).   See AR62.25-P-1110-02LWE .

  Risk of explosion  from aluminum grinding dust, risk of injury to respiratory system from inhaling dust Wear dust filter mask, safety glasses and protective gloves.
Use a suitable, grounded dust extraction system.

9 Prepare wheel well (1) and crossmember (2). IMPORTANT Cut "A" on wheel well (1) not required.

INSTALLING Install     
  The high voltage used for electric welding presents a lethal hazard. Risk of explosion  from welding in areas close to highly inflammable materials. Risk of injury  from weld splatter and UV-light when welding. Risk of poisoning  from inhaling welding gases Use insulating mats. Wear protective clothing, safety glasses and a protective mask. Remove highly inflammable materials from the hazard area. Use air extraction system. See AS00.00-Z-0007-01A .

10 Install wheel well (1), crossmember (2), firewall (3), pedal assembly cup (4) and firewall crossmember (5).   See AR62.25-P-1110-05LWE .

11 Release vehicle from straightening bench, lift and remove straightening bench.    
12 Clean weld joints and sheet metal flange. IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools
