  Risk of explosion  caused by escaping hydrogen or overheating of the fuel tanks when working on the hydrogen system. Risk of frostbite  to body parts caused by escaping gas and by touching component parts carrying gas when emptying fuel tanks. Risk of asphyxiation  caused by inhalation of air diluted by hydrogen. Risk of burn injuries  by coming into contact with an invisible pale blue hydrogen flame.   AS00.00-Z-0030-01B

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Ensure that the prerequisites for driving into the workshop are fulfilled.
Requirements for driving into the workshop

REFER TO FORMS
Print out "tank system, fuel cell, form event log," fill out, and attach to the vehicle somewhere clearly visible.   OF00.00-P-3000-21RFW
3 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).    
4 Remove load compartment floor (3).   AR68.80-P-5800RFW
5 Remove rear-end center-section trim (4).   AR68.30-P-4785LWS 
6 Unclip luggage net (6) at bottom. When removing left side load compartment trim (5).  
7 Unclip carpet section (10) and remove.    
8 Remove tie-down eyes (7) at side load compartment trim (5). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt for tie-down eye *BA68.50-P-1001-03I 
9 Unclip side load compartment trim (5) starting from bottom rear. NOTES
Carefully unclip side load compartment trim (5). Electrical connectors (8, 9) located underneath can otherwise be damaged.
 
10 Disconnect electrical connectors (8, 9). IMPORTANT The number of electrical connectors (8, 9) can vary depending on equipment installed.  
11 Transfer right rear seat backrest release button (S54/12) and/or left rear seat backrest release button (S54/11). When replacing side load compartment trim (5).  
12 Transfer trunk socket (X58/12). When replacing left side load compartment trim (5).  
13 Install in the reverse order.
