	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

	Remove/install
1	Release twelve-point collar nut	MODEL 117, 156, 176, 246 with CODE M005 (4MATIC) Secure twelve-point collar nut.
		Collar nut, rear axle shaft to wheel bearing	*BA35.30-P-1001-01M
2	Remove the appropriate wheel
			AP40.10-P-4050AK
3	Unscrew twelve-point collar nut	MODEL 117, 156, 176, 246 with CODE M005 (4MATIC) Replace twelve-point collar nut. Clean thread of rear axle shaft.
4	Remove rear axle brake disk		AR42.10-P-0220NKB
5	Remove bolts (3) on wheel carrier (4)	Wheel bearing to wheel carrier	*BA35.20-P-1001-06D
6	Detach rear axle shaft flange (1) with angular contact ball bearing (2) and anchor plate (5)	MODEL 117, 156, 176, 246 with CODE M005 (4MATIC) Do not knock out firmly seated rear axle shaft out of rear axle shaft flange (1). Otherwise the angular contact ball bearing (2) will be damaged. The running surfaces (arrows) on the angular contact ball bearing (2) and in the wheel carrier (4) must be free of dust and grease. Otherwise the left or right rear axle rpm sensor will be damaged.
7	Install in the reverse order
