Replace Left Firewall Half - Ar62.25-P-1110LWE

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove detachable parts in area of repair point.    
2 Cover all detachable parts remaining in vehicle with spark protection blankets.    
3 Remove upper front longitudinal member. Model 238 AR62.20-P-1286LWO

4 Set up straightening bench with straightening bench support members and straightening set.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 01 23 00 Body straightening system   WS60.00-P-0023K .
5 Place vehicle on straightening bench and fasten.    
6 Remove wheel well (1) and crossmember (2).   AR62.20-P-1200-21LW .

Body power jigsaw
Spot weld milling machine
Drill bit and milling cutter for high-strength steels
Wet/dry vacuum cleaner		 WS54.00-P-0049B .
    Zinc dust paint suitable for spot welding *BR00.45-Z-1001-07A .
7 Remove firewall (3), pedal assembly cup (4) and firewall crossmember (5).   AR62.25-P-1110-01LWE .

Round wire brush
Spot weld milling machine
Drill bit and milling cutter for high-strength steels
Body power jigsaw

8 Prepare firewall (3), pedal assembly cup (4) and firewall crossmember (5).   AR62.25-P-1110-02LWE .

Body power jigsaw		 WS54.00-P-0049B .
DANGER Risk of explosion  from aluminum grinding dust, risk of injury to respiratory system from inhaling dust Wear dust filter mask, safety glasses, and protective gloves.
Use a suitable, grounded dust extraction system.		 AS60.00-Z-0007-01N .
9 Prepare wheel well (1) and crossmember (2). IMPORTANT Cut "A" on wheel well (1) not required.

    Zinc dust paint suitable for spot welding *BR00.45-Z-1001-07A .
INSTALLING Install     
DANGER The high voltage used for electric welding presents a lethal hazard. Risk of explosion  from welding in areas close to highly inflammable materials. Risk of injury  from weld splatter and UV-light when welding. Risk of poisoning  from inhaling welding gases Use insulating mats. Wear protective clothing, safety glasses and a protective mask. Remove highly inflammable materials from the hazard area. Use air extraction system. AS00.00-Z-0007-01A .

10 Install wheel well (1), crossmember (2), firewall (3), pedal assembly cup (4) and firewall crossmember (5).   AR62.25-P-1110-05LWE .

    Blind rivet Y1 6.4X12 (clamping range 1 mm to 3.5 mm, draw-off strength min. 15.5 kN) *BR00.45-Z-1035-13A .
    Blind rivet Y2 6.5X12.5 (clamping range 2 mm to 5 mm, draw-off strength min. 19 kN) *BR00.45-Z-1012-13A .

11 Release vehicle from straightening bench, lift and remove straightening bench.    
12 Clean weld joints and sheet metal flange. IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools

13 Install upper front longitudinal member. Model 238 AR62.20-P-1286LWO
    Model 213, 253

14 Install detachable parts in the area of the repair point.
