- Assign connecting rod bearing shells (4a, 4b) to cylinders.
When reusing connecting rod bearing shells (4a, 4b), install them on the same cylinder and in the same direction.
Engine damage can occur otherwise.
When installing new connecting rod bearing shells (4a, 4b), only install matching color combinations.
Engine damage can occur otherwise.
- Wet connecting rod bearing shells (4a, 4b) with engine oil.
- Insert lower connecting rod bearing shells (4a) into respective connecting rod bearing caps (1).
The anti-twist lock (b) must rest in the inner edge of the groove (a).
Engine damage can occur otherwise.
- Insert upper connecting rod bearing shells (4b) into respective connecting rods (2).
The anti-twist lock (d) must rest in the inner edge of the groove (c).
Engine damage can occur otherwise.
- Moisten thread and bolt head contact surface of connecting rod bolts with engine oil.
- Place connecting rod bearing caps (1) on the respective connecting rods (2) and tighten connecting rod bolts slightly by hand.
Do not swap around connecting rod bearing caps (1) or install them on the incorrect side.
Engine damage can occur otherwise.
