Use pliers (2) to remove valve stem seal (1).
Check valve stem for ridging and pitting.
If ridging is present,

Deburr valve stem.

If pitting is present,

↓

Replace valve.
Fit protective sleeve onto the valve stem.
Moisten valve stem seal (1) with engine oil.
Install valve stem seal (1) by inserting drift (3) to end stop.
Install valve stem seal (1) with red sealing on exhaust side and with black sealing on intake side.

Pull off protective sleeve from valve stem.
