NOTES When installing camshaft bearing caps note the numbering and install camshaft bearing cap at same position again.

Engine damage can occur otherwise.

Engine 111 

IMPORTANT The camshaft bearings are successively numbered from 1-10, starting with the front exhaust camshaft.

The numbers are stamped into the bearing cap using number punches and cast into the cylinder head.

Engine 120 

The camshaft key figures are to be read off the bearing points 3 and 10 on the right cylinder head and bearing point 17 and 24 on the left cylinder head (behind bearing caps) (arrows) and stamped onto the camshaft flange with a color (arrows).

Engine 166 

IMPORTANT The camshaft bearing caps are consecutively numbered, starting on the front camshaft (camshaft sprocket).

The numbers are stamped into the camshaft bearing caps using number punches.

IMPORTANT The camshaft bearing caps are successively numbered with numbers (arrows), starting on the camshaft sprocket.

IMPORTANT Install camshaft bearing caps with numbering (arrows) facing inlet side at same position again.

Engine 601 

IMPORTANT The camshaft bearings are successively numbered from 1-5, starting with the 1st cylinder.

The numbers are stamped into the bearing caps with number punches.

IMPORTANT The camshaft bearing caps are numbered consecutively:

On the camshaft inlet side starting at the front with 1 to 4.

On the camshaft exhaust side starting at the front with 5 to 8.
