Remove/Install Heat Exchanger - AR18.30-P-6841MRA

WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.		 AS20.00-Z-0001-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing engine oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.		 AS18.00-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Drain off coolant INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Install center and rear sections of lower engine compartment paneling only after a leak test. AR20.00-P-1142LW
2.1 Remove alternator Engine 274.9 in model 205 (except 205.047/048/049/147/148/247/248/348/349/448/449)

    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Only install upper engine cover after the leak test. AR15.40-P-5032LWA
2.2 Remove electrical vacuum pump with bracket Engine 274.9 in model 205.047/147/247

      AR43.05-P-0001MRD
    Engine 274 in model 253.354/954
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.		 AR43.05-P-0001LVH
3 Detach coolant hoses (4) from heat exchanger (1) SPECIAL TOOL Pliers for click clamps Fig 3
    SPECIAL TOOL Hose clamp pliers Fig 2
4 Remove screw/bolts (2) and take off heat exchanger (1) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace seals.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, heat exchanger to crankcase *BA18.30-P-1001-01L 
5 Install in the reverse order    
6 Check engine oil level and correct    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP18.00-P-1811MP 
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
7 Perform an engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leak tightness    
8 Install upper engine cover    
9 Install center and rear sections of lower engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105LW
