Check Engine Oil Pressure - AR18.00-P-1250MRA

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing engine oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A

INSPECT Check     
1 Warm up engine to normal operating temperature    
2 Check temperature sensor of the remote thermometer (01) into the oil dipstick tube and engine oil temperature Oil pressure at operating temperature 90°C *BE18.00-P-1001-01J

3 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m)

REFER TO MAINTENANCE
Check engine oil level approx. 5 min. after switching off the engine at operating temperature and correct if necessary NOTES
Vehicle must be horizontal and standing on its wheels.
Otherwise a false measurement will be taken.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
5 Remove upper engine cover INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.  
6 Remove oil filter element

7 Screw in tester cap (05) SPECIAL TOOL Test cap Fig 2
8 Attach pressure line (4) to tester cap (05) SPECIAL TOOL Tester Fig 1
HIGH PRESSURE TEST Measure using pointer device     
9 Start engine and read out oil pressure NOTES
Position oil pressure gauge (03) in such a way that it is not caught by the poly-V belt when starting the engine.
Damage can occur otherwise to the oil pressure gauge (03) and to the poly-V belt.
IMPORTANT When the throttle is opened, the oil pressure must rise without any delay.
Oil pressure at operating temperature 90°C

10 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m)    
11 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check

REFER TO MAINTENANCE
Check engine oil level approx. 5 min. after switching off the engine at operating temperature and correct if necessary NOTES

Otherwise a false measurement will be taken.

13 Carry out an engine test run and check engine for leaktightness    
14 Install upper engine cover
