Remove/Install Power Electronics - AR08.20-P-0011LVH

DANGER Risk of death  when working on component parts and systems with U >= 30 V alternating voltage (AC) or U >= 60 V direct voltage (DC) Do not touch damaged or defective live component parts and lines or non-insulated electrical connections and lines. AS00.00-Z-0035-01A
WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Perform enable for the high voltage on-board electrical system   AR54.10-P-1150LVH
2 Detach on-board electrical system battery ground line   AR54.10-P-0003LW
3 Remove left underfloor paneling   AR61.30-P-1001LW
4 Remove reinforcement (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, rear reinforcement to frame floor assembly *BA61.10-P-1004-01L 
5 Drain coolant from low-temperature circuit   AR09.41-P-6834LW
6 Unfasten cable ducts (3) on the overall length of the left frame floor assembly    
7 Unclip electrical line (6) from power electronics (1)    
8 Release and disconnect the high voltage plugs (7, 9)    
9 Close the high voltage plugs (7, 9) with protective covers SPECIAL TOOL Set of protective covers Fig 8
    SPECIAL TOOL Set of protective caps Fig 9
10 Release and disconnect electrical connector (8)    
11 Remove screw/bolt (4) and place potential equalization line (5) to one side TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, potential equalization line to body *BA08.20-P-1004-01I 
12 Support power electronics (1) and secure against falling down    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 11 62 00 Major assembly mount   WS01.00-P-0092B
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 10 62 00 Support plate   WS26.00-P-3309B
13 Remove screw/bolt (12) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, bracket for power electronics to body *BA08.20-P-1001-01I 
14 Lower the high-voltage distributor (11) with power electronics (1) NOTES
Do not put high-voltage lines under tension. Otherwise the high-voltage on-board electrical system may be damaged.
 
15 Clamp off coolant hoses (14) as close possible to power electronics (1) SPECIAL TOOL Clamp Fig 7
16 Loosen clamps (15) SPECIAL TOOL Hose clamp pliers Fig 5
17 Detach coolant hoses (14) from power electronics (1) and catch escaping coolant in a suitable container    
18 Close off coolant connections of the power electronics (1) using suitable stop plugs SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 6
19 Detach high-voltage distributor (11) from power electronics (1)   AR54.10-P-1400-01LVH
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, high-voltage distributor to power electronics *BA54.10-P-1003-03E

    SPECIAL TOOL Set of protective covers Fig 2
    SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 4
20 Close off high-voltage distributor (11) with cover and secure the cover against falling down NOTES
Protect high-voltage distributor (11) against moisture and dirt particles.
Otherwise contact problems and damage to high voltage on-board electrical system can occur.

21 Close off open plug contacts of the power electronics (1) with protective covers NOTES
Protect power electronics (1) against moisture and dirt particles.
Otherwise contact problems and damage to high voltage on-board electrical system can occur.

22 Remove power electronics (1) INSTALLATION NOTES 35
Ensure absolute cleanliness of plug contacts and seals.
Otherwise water entry and isolation faults can occur.
 
23 Detach vent line (10) When replacing the power electronics (1).  
24 Detach potential equalization line (5) from power electronics (1) When replacing the power electronics (1).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, potential equalization to power electronics *BA08.20-P-1003-01I 
25 Detach brackets (17, 18, 19) When replacing the power electronics (1).
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Assembly:
Align screw/bolts to the old imprints on holders (17, 18, 19).
 
    Otherwise, mounting problems may occur.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, power electronics to bracket *BA08.20-P-1002-01I 
26 Install in the reverse order    
  Initial startup     
27 Commission power electronics (1) When replacing the power electronics (1).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   IMPORTANT To do this, select the following menu items:

Adaptations →
Commissioning.
