| 4 | Disconnect black 22-pin connector (20.1) at trailer recognition control unit (N28/1) | ||
| 5 | Disconnect vehicle interior/trailer hitch electrical connector (X58/33) | ||
| 6 | Detach trailer hitch wiring harness (20) from crossmember (1) | ||
| 7 | Detach grommet (20.3) from rear center section | ||
| 8 | Guide trailer hitch wiring harness (20) and grommet (20.3) through opening in rear center section to outside | ||
| 9 | Turn cap (20.4) in counterclockwise direction | ||
| 10 | Detach grommet (20.5) from cap (20.4) | ||
| 11 | Push cap (20.4) toward trailer hitch wiring harness (20) | ||
| 12 | Disconnect black 2-pin connector (20.6) | ||
| 13 | Disconnect black 5-pin connector (20.7) | ||
| 14 | Remove trailer hitch wiring harness (20) | ||
| 15 | Install in the reverse order | ||

| 16 | Perform function test on ball neck and on light signals at trailer socket | ||
