Notes On Sealant Path For Timing Case Cover - AH01.40-P-1000-01MFC

Engine 260 

IMPORTANT Use only the sealant listed in the repair products.

Application temperature of the sealant is +7°C to +25°C.

Process the sealant within a period of 13 min to 15 minutes.

Clean sealing surfaces.

The sealing surfaces on the cylinder head cover must be dry, and free of dust, oil and grease.

Do not touch sealing surfaces with bare hands, wear protective gloves at all times.

Do not spread the sealant bead.

Interruptions during sealant application are not permissible.

IMPORTANT The lines (1) identify the sealant path.

Apply sealant only at specified surfaces in bead form with a height and width of 2.0 mm (+0.5 mm).

During the joining process the gap width between the sealing surfaces of component parts may be a max. 0.3 mm.

IMPORTANT Install timing case cover within a period of 10 minutes after application of the sealant.

Remove any excess or leaking sealant from the adjacent sealing surfaces after tightening the cylinder head cover.

The components must not be lifted off each other again after the joining process.
