Remove/Install Engine Oil Pump - AR18.10-P-6020MFC

Oil pump (1) tightening procedure

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
WARNING Risk of injury  . Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing engine oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove oil pan.   AR01.45-P-7500MFC
2 Release and disconnect electrical connector from engine oil pump valve (Y130).    
3 Secure oil pump (1) against falling down and remove screws (2a, 2b, 2c) contrary to the alphanumeric sequence of the tightening procedure. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Tighten screws (2a, 2b, 2c) in the alphanumeric sequence of the tightening procedure.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, oil pump to crankcase

4 Press back clamping device (3) of the toothed chain (4) with a suitable tool, remove toothed chain (4) from oil pump gear and remove oil pump (1). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Fill oil pump (1) with engine oil so that oil is delivered when starting the engine for the first time.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Install new sealing rings.
 
5 Remove oil suction pipe (5) from oil pump (1). If a new oil pump (1) is installed.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, oil suction pipe to pipe flange/bracket

6 Remove engine oil valve pump (Y130) from oil pump (1). If a new oil pump (1) is installed.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, hydraulic components directional control valve to oil pump

INSPECT Check     
7 Check oil pump gear for easy movement and damage. If a problem is identified,

Replace oil pump (1).
 
8 Check clamping device (3) of the toothed chain (4). If a problem is identified,

Determine cause and eliminate.
 
9 Check oil deflector (6) for damage. If a problem is identified,

replace oil deflector (6).
 
10 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the danger zone. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
11 Perform engine test run; in this connection, check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.
