Location 

The tire pressure monitor control unit is located on the underfloor above the rear axle.

Tasks 

The tire pressure monitoring system control unit has the following tasks:

Reading in of signals 

The input factors are read in over the following connections:

Two-way radio 

The following signals are read in using radio:

Chassis CAN (up to model year 2017) 

The following signals are received via the chassis CAN:

Chassis CAN 2 (as of model year 2017) 

The following signals are received via chassis CAN 2:

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor whereupon the information is then sent.

Transfer of information 

The tire pressure monitoring system control unit sends information via the chassis CAN (up to model year 2017) or via chassis CAN 2 (as of model year 2017) to the instrument cluster; this information is shown as menu displays and as warning messages.

Body 

The central antenna is integrated in the tire pressure monitor control unit.
