	Lower
	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

		While working on the rear axle care must be taken to ensure that the surfaces of aluminum components do not get any scratches, cracks and notches. Otherwise the service life of the of the parts will be reduced.
1	Remove rear wheels		AP40.10-P-4050V
2	Secure vehicle on vehicle lift		AR00.60-P-0100T
3	Remove rear stiffening bridge (2)		*BA61.10-P-1008-01A
4	Remove propeller shaft (3) from rear axle differential (4)	The flexible coupling remains on the propeller shaft (3).	AR41.10-P-0050V
5	Use transmission jack to prop up and support rear axle carrier (5) in front area (arrow) of rear axle differential (4)	Transmission jack
6	Remove bolt (6) on left and right front attachment point of rear axle carrier (5) and lower rear axle carrier (5)	: Thread in frame floor assembly must be recut and blown out. Otherwise residue adhesive in the thread may prevent the preload force for the bolts (6) from being reached, despite reaching the specified torque and specified rotation angle. A faulty bolt preload force can lead to the bolts (6) fracturing.

7	Assemble in the reverse order	Only tighten nuts and bolts of chassis components when vehicle is in a ready-to-drive condition.
