Check Track Rod And Drag Link Linkage For Play, Check Rubber Boots - AP46.00-P-4653V

INSPECT Check     
Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
Risk of injury  caused by moving parts that can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases, even sever extremities No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating range of the mechanism when moving components. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
1 Turn ignition key to "0" position    
2 Hoist vehicle with lifting platform until wheels are free   AR00.60-P-1000V
INSPECT Check     
3 Check tie rod ball joints (10a) of right and left tie rod (10) IMPORTANT Check tie rod ball joints (10a) for play by firmly pulling and pushing. Replace tie rod ball joints (10a) in event of play subject to separate repair order:

Remove/install tie rod:

4 Check rubber boots (10b) of right and left tie rod ball joint (10a) IMPORTANT Check rubber boots (10b) for leaktightness and condition. If necessary, replace tie rod ball joints (10a) subject to separate repair order:

5 Check left and right bellows (10c) NOTES Do not check bellows (10c) by pressing in or around raised beads as this leads to damage to the plastic and thus to leaks.
IMPORTANT Stretch bellows (10c) by turning steering to left and right wheel lock; and check for cracks, indentations and chafing. If necessary, replace bellows (10a) subject to separate repair order:

Replace bellows:
