Remove/Install Seal At Outer Top Part Of C-Pillar For Vario Roof - AR77.50-P-6766W

REMOVING Removing     
  Risk of injury  caused by body parts being trapped  or crushed  when working on a partially open Vario roof (in stop mode) or in its closing area as a result of the Vario roof suddenly collapsing Secure Vario roof with a suitable special tool. AS77.50-Z-0001-01A 
1 Switch on ignition and actuate Vario roof actuation switch until the Vario roof has reached the intermediate position as shown. IMPORTANT Position of C-pillar top sections (2) approx. 120°.
Leave ignition switched on. The Vario roof remains in this position for approx. 7 min in the stop mode. After approx. 7 min, the Vario roof automatically lowers into the trunk. The stop mode can be increased by an additional 7 min by actuating the Vario roof control switch again.		  
2 Hook support (3) into right front lock (4) as shown and install at right mount (5) SPECIAL TOOL Support Fig 3

3 Switch off ignition    
4 Remove bolts (7)    
5 Remove seal (1) from C-pillar top section (2), unclip in lower area (arrow A) and remove    
CLEANING Clean     
6 Remove sealant residues from sealing surfaces of C-pillar upper section (2) and thoroughly clean sealing surfaces NOTES The sealing surfaces must be free of oil and grease. Otherwise leakage is possible.
IMPORTANT Observe drying time for cleaning agent		  
    Cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1025-04A 
INSTALLING Install     
7 Install butyl cord (8) on C-pillar top section (2) as illustrated And pull butyl cord (8) uniformly lengthwise when routing NOTES Do not touch butyl cord (8) with bare fingers. The point on the C-pillar top section (2) at which the butyl cord (8) is attached, must be free of dust and grease. Otherwise leakage is possible.
IMPORTANT The length of the butyl cord (8) is 1 cm, before it is extended.		  
    Sealing profile *BR00.45-Z-1084-01A 
8 Install seal (1) at top of C-pillar top section (2) IMPORTANT Ensure that the sealing tab (9) is seated correctly between the support flange and C-pillar top section paneling (2) (arrow B)  
9 Position seal (1) at side of C-pillar top section (2) (arrow F) and clip inner sealing lip (arrow C) over entire length into retaining rail (13) on C-pillar top section (2) by hand    
10 Press outer sealing lip (arrow D) of seal (1) over entire length into retaining rail (13) on C-pillar top section (2) with assembly wedge NOTES The SPECIAL TOOL assembly wedge should not have sharp edges or burrs. Otherwise seal (1) can be damaged

11 Firmly press seal (1) to C-pillar top section (2) in area of butyl cord (8)    
12 Tighten bolts (7) IMPORTANT Slide seal (1) as far as possible in direction of arrow (arrow E) without stretching seal (1) when tightening bolts (7),  
13 Clip pin (14) on seal (1) into hole (15) in lower area of C-pillar top section (2)    
14 Take off support (3)    
15 Close Vario roof with Vario roof control switch    
16 Perform rain test
