	Risk of injury  caused by body parts being trapped or crushed when working on a partially open Vario roof (in stop mode) or in its closing area as a result of the Vario roof suddenly collapsing	Secure Vario roof with a suitable special tool.	AS77.50-Z-0001-01A
	Remove
1	Move Vario roof into intermediate position with the roof switch	Position of C-pillar top section (2) approx. 120° as shown. Leave ignition switched on. The Vario roof remains in this position for approx. 7 min. in the stop mode. After approx. 7 min, the Vario roof automatically lowers into the trunk. The stop mode can be increased by an additional 7 min. by actuating the Vario roof actuation switch again. The following operation steps 2 to 4 must be completed within this period of time.
2	Separate water drain hose (3) (arrow A)
3	Slide seal (1) up 10 mm at flange on rear window side and unhook from C-pillar top section (2) (arrow B)
4	Remove seal (1) from flange in rear window side from C-pillar top section (2) and pull water drain funnel (5) on seal (1) out of C-pillar top section (2)
5	Change intermediate position of Vario roof with Vario roof actuation switch	Position of C-pillar top section (2) approx. 75° as shown. Observe stop mode! The Vario roof closes automatically after 7 minutes. The following operation steps 6 to 10 must be completed within this period of time.
6	Loosen seal (1) toward front at lower flange and remove from C-pillar top section (2) (arrow C)
	Clean
7	Remove sealant residues and thoroughly clean sealing surfaces on C-pillar top section (2)	The sealing surfaces must be free of oil and grease. Otherwise leakage is possible. Observe flash-off time for cleaning agent.

	Install
8	Route Ø 6 mm butyl cord (6)	Length of Ø 6 mm butyl cord (6): approx. 300 mm. Route Ø 6 mm butyl cord (6) up to edge of sealing surface (arrow J) starting below C-pillar top section paneling (2) at height of start of cutout (arrow l). Install Ø 6 mm butyl cord (6) with radius from edge of sealing surface (arrow J) to bottom of sealing surface (arrow K) and route remaining length to discharge as shown. Do not touch 0 6 mm butyl cord (6) with bare fingers. Press on ends of 0 6 mm butyl cord (6).

9	Position seal (1) at outer corner (arrow D) starting at C-pillar top section (2) and hook pin (4) into cutout (arrow E)
10	Move Vario roof into intermediate position with the roof switch	Position of C-pillar top section (2) approx. 120° as shown. Observe stop mode! The Vario roof closes automatically after 7 minutes. The following operation steps 11 to 15 must be completed within this period of time.
11	Press water drain funnel (5) on seal (1) into C-pillar top section (2)	Ensure that water drain funnel (5) is arrested correctly.
12	Slide seal (1) on flange of rear window side of C-pillar top section (2) and hook into upper area (arrow G)
13	Clip sealing lip (arrow H) on seal (1) into retaining rail on upper flange of C-pillar top section (2) by hand
14	Slide seal (1) on lower flange of C-pillar top section (2) and hook into pin (arrow F)
15	Press on seal (1) in area of 0 6 mm butyl cord (6) with roller	Roller	Fig 2
16	Completely close Vario roof with Vario roof actuation switch
17	Visually check seal seating (1), parallel course and lip contact (wave formation)
18	Perform rain test
