	Remove/install
	Risk of injury.  Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities.	No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area of mechanical components when moving components.	AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
	Risk of death  when working on component parts and systems with U >= 30 V alternating voltage (AC) or U >= 60 V direct voltage (DC)	Do not touch damaged or defective live component parts and lines or non-insulated electrical connections and lines.	AS00.00-Z-0035-01A

1	Open Vario roof fully
2	Completely move front seats and backrests toward front
3	Switch off ignition
4	Remove draft stop or left and right glass draft stop (2) and associated brackets from roll bars	Glass draft stop (2) only in vehicles with code (288) AIRCAP.
5	Remove center cover (3)
6	Remove left and right speaker cover with belt guide (4) and allow to hang on seat belt
7	Remove roll bar trim (5)
8	Move both seat backrests to the rear
9	Move the Vario roof to the intermediate position with the Vario roof actuation switch so that bolts (11, 13) are accessible and secure this intermediate position	To secure the intermediate position, attach supports (17, 18), as shown, to latch (19) and mount (20). Secure support (18) with a cable tie to mount (20) to prevent it from falling down. Support	Fig 2

10	Remove Vario roof front section trim (6)
11	Attach suitable adhesive tape (7), as shown, to main rear shelf flap (8)	Use stable adhesive tape (7). Otherwise, main rear shelf flap (8) will be damaged when screw (13) is removed and tightened.
12	Remove screw (9)	There are two thrust plates (10) on main guide (1). Secure these against falling down. :  Replace thrust plates (10). Ensure that thrust plates (10) are seated correctly Bolt, main guide to Vario roof front section	*BA77.33-P-1015-01A
13	Remove screw (11)	:  Position sliding block (15) in such a way that bolt (11) reaches into the mount (arrow).
14	Unscrew counternut (12)	Jam nut for bolt, main guide to main bearing	*BA77.33-P-1019-01A
15	Remove screw (13)	Bolt, main guide to main bearing	*BA77.33-P-1018-01A
16	Position main guide (1) in such a way that screw (14) is accessible
17	Unscrew screw (14) and remove it together with spacer sleeve (16)	Bolt, main guide to linkage	*BA77.33-P-1020-01A
18	Remove main guide (1)
19	Install in the reverse order
