	Risk of injury caused by body parts being trapped or crushed when working on a partially open Vario roof (in stop mode) or in its closing area as a result of the Vario roof suddenly collapsing	Secure Vario roof with a suitable special tool.	AS77.50-Z-0001-01A
	Remove
1	Switch on ignition and move Vario roof to intermediate position with Vario roof actuation switch (S84s1)	Position of C-pillar top section (3) approx. 120° as shown. Leave ignition switched on. The Vario roof remains in this position for approx. 7 min. in the stop mode. After approx. 7 min, the Vario roof automatically lowers into the trunk. The stop mode can be increased by momentarily actuating the Vario roof actuation switch (S84s1) for another 7 minutes.
2	Secure Vario roof with support (4)	Hook support (4) into front lock (5) and mount (6). Support	Fig 3

3	Switch off ignition
4	Unscrew nuts (13)
5	Pull upper seal (2) out of joint between rear window frame (8) and rear window (9)	Replace lower seal (2). Otherwise leakage is not possible.
	Clean
6	Clean sealing surfaces on rear window frame (8) and rear window (9)	The sealing surfaces must be free of oil and grease. Otherwise leakage is not possible. Observe air drying time for cleaning agent. Cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1025-04A
	Install
7	Insert butyl cord (arrow A) into lower seal (2)	MODEL 231 Do not touch butyl cord (arrow A) with bare fingers. The point on the lower seal (2), where the butyl cord (arrow A) is inserted must be free of dust and grease. Otherwise leakage is not possible. The length of butyl cord (arrow A) is 25 mm. 8	Position lower seal (2) on rear window frame (8) and press upper sealing lip (10) below rear window (9) with assembly wedge (11)	The assembly wedge (11) should not have sharp edges or burrs. Otherwise lower seal (2) can be damaged Mounting wedge	Fig 2
9	Firmly press lower seal (2) to stop on rear window frame (8)
10	Screw on nut (13) and tighten	Nut, bottom rear window seal to rear window frame	*BA67.20-P-1003-02A
11	Press on lower seal (2) in area of butyl cord (arrow A).	MODEL 231 Carefully remove butyl with cleaner. Observe air drying time for cleaning agent. Cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1025-04A
12	Check whether lower seal (2) is seated tightly.
13	Remove support (4)	Support	Fig 3

14	Close Vario roof with Vario roof actuation switch (S84s1)

15	Perform rain test
