| 1 | Open Vario roof fully | ||
| 2 | Completely move front seats and backrests toward front | ||
| 3 | Switch off ignition | ||
| 4 | Remove draft stop or left right glass draft stop (1) and associated brackets from roll bars | ||
| 5 | Remove center speaker cover (2) | ||
| 6 | Remove left and right speaker cover with belt guide (3) and allow to hang on seat belt. | ||
| 7 | Remove cross member paneling (4) | ||
| 8 | Remove left and right coat hanger hooks (5) | ||
| 9 | Remove pocket (6) from rear wall cover (7) | ||
| 10 | Remove left and right cover (8) from rear wall paneling (7) | ||
| 11 | Fold rear wall paneling (7) toward front until cross member cover (9) can be removed | ||
| 12 | Remove crossmember cover (9) and lay down toward front with electrical lines connected | Rechargeable drill/screwdriver |

| 13 | Fold up insulating mat (10) and secure against folding down | See: ↓ Check oil level Vario roof actuation hydraulic unit (A7/5), correct if necessary |

| 14 | Unclip hydraulic wiring harnesses (11) from Vario roof crossmember (12) | ||
| 15 | Open cable ties (13) and disconnect electrical connector (14) | ||
| 16 | Unhook Vario roof actuation hydraulic unit (A7/5) from rubber mounts (15) and turn until the connections on the hydraulic cylinders are accessible | ||
| 17 | Disconnect hydraulic lines from Vario roof actuation hydraulic unit (A7/5) | AR77.37-P-1000-04V | |
