Vario roof, general 

The Vario roof consists primarily of three movable elements connected with one another by a pivoting mechanism. The Vario roof is moved by an electronically controlled hydraulic cylinder.

The Vario roof is opened or closed within approx. t = 16 s.

On vehicles with code (412) Vario roof in glass version, the glass segment of the Vario roof can be changed from opaque to transparent (MAGIC SKY CONTROL). This is accomplished by applying an AC voltage.
