	Risk of injury  caused by performing testing and repair work on engine hood lifter	Store pyrotechnical engine hood lifters with deployment side to one side, do not expose to any temperatures in excess of 100°C. When working on this unit, disconnect the power supply.	AS91.00-Z-0007-01A

	Remove/install
1	Disconnect battery ground line		AR54.10-P-0003GZ
2	Check shear plates for hinge of engine hood for damage	In case of damage to the shear plates for hinge of engine hood ↓ replace shear plates for hinge of engine hood	AR91.60-P-0910GQ
3	Remove covers (1)
4	Disconnect electrical connector (2)
5	Unscrew bolt (3)	Screw/nut, hood lifter to body	*BA91.60-P-1002-02A
6	Pull out engine hood lifter (4) and remove
7	Install in the reverse order
	Check
8	Check impact absorber at front bumper for damage	Model 166 as of model year 2016 with code U60 (Active Bonnet (Pedestrian protection)) Model 292 with code U60 (Active Bonnet (Pedestrian protection)) If the engine hood lifter has deployed	AR88.20-P-2000GQC
		Model 292 with code U60 (Active Bonnet (Pedestrian protection)) Model 166 as of model year 2016 with code U60 (Active Bonnet (Pedestrian protection)) In case of damage to the impact absorber ↓ replace impact absorber	AR88.20-P-2000GQ
		Model 166.0 as of model year 2016 with code U60 (Active Bonnet (Pedestrian protection)) Model 292 with code U60 (Active Bonnet (Pedestrian protection)) except code 772 (AMG styling package - front spoiler, side skirts and rear apron)	AR88.20-P-2050GQB
9	Connect diagnostic system and check supplemental restraint system (SRS)
