Remove/Install Front Engine Mount And/Or Engine Support - AR22.10-P-1260GQ

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
  Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
  Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

1 Detach ground line from battery Engine 276.9 in model 251 AR54.10-P-0003RT

IMPORTANT For removing right-hand engine mount (7)		 AR54.10-P-0003GZ
2 Remove front engine cover    
3.1 Remove air filter housing with engine air intake duct upstream of air filter For removing right-hand engine mount (7)  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, air filter to cylinder head cover *BA09.10-P-1001-01M 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, air filter to air intake pipe support brace *BA09.10-P-1002-01M 
3.2 Remove ME-SFI [ME] control unit For removing left-hand engine mount (7) AR07.08-P-7008GQ
4 Remove section of the left, center and right partition wall    
5.1 Unfasten shield (2a) For removing right-hand engine mount (7) AR14.10-P-4095GQ
5.2 Unfasten bracket (1) for ME-SFI [ME] control unit with shield (2) For removing left-hand engine mount (7) AR14.10-P-4095GQ
6.1 Remove right oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter (G3/4) For removing right-hand engine mount (7) AR07.52-P-5303GQ
6.2 Remove left oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter (G33) For removing left-hand engine mount (7) AR07.52-P-5303GQ
7.1 Remove shield (2a) For removing right-hand engine mount (7) AR14.10-P-4095GQ
7.2 Remove bracket (1) for ME-SFI [ME] control unit with shield (2) For removing left-hand engine mount (7) AR14.10-P-4095GQ
8.1 Remove heat shield (3a) over engine mount (7) at engine support For removing right-hand engine mount (7)
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, heat shield to engine support		 *BA22.10-P-1003-02A 
8.2 Detach heat shield (3) over engine mount (7) at engine support and set aside or remove For removing left-hand engine mount (7)
IMPORTANT Model 166: the heat shield (3) and engine mount (7) can only be removed/installed together.
IMPORTANT Model 251: the heat shield (3) can removed individually.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, heat shield to engine support		 *BA22.10-P-1003-02A 
9 Mount engine hoist and raise engine slightly Engine 276.9 in model 251 AR33.10-P-0100-01RT

IMPORTANT Only raise engine sufficiently that the engine mount (7) is not under tension.		 AR33.10-P-0105EW
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 276.9 in model 251 Bolt, partition wall reinforcement between wheel well liners to fender *BA62.30-P-1008-01E

10 Remove corresponding underfloor paneling Engine 276.9 in model 251 AR61.30-P-1001RT

11 Unscrew screw/bolts (6) for engine mounts (7) on front axle carrier TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 276.9 in model 251 Bolt, front engine mount to front axle carrier *BA22.10-P-1001-03F 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 276.9 in model 166 Bolt, front engine mount to front axle carrier *BA22.10-P-1001-03G 
12 Remove screw/bolts for engine support on engine mounts (7) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 276.9 in model 251 Bolt, front engine mount to engine support *BA22.10-P-1002-03F 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 276.9 in model 166 Bolt, front engine mount to engine support *BA22.10-P-1002-03G 
SPECIAL TOOL Engine mount wrench set Fig 2
13 Lift engine IMPORTANT Pay attention when lifting out engine that no cables and lines are damaged and that engine does not lean against the bulkhead.  
14.1 Remove screw/bolt from A/C compressor at engine support For removing left-hand engine mount (7)
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, refrigerant compressor to timing case/crankcase/engine support		 *BA83.55-P-1001-01M 
14.2 Detach alternator and place to one side with the lines connected Only model 166 with 4MATIC, model 251 For removing right-hand engine mount (7)
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, alternator to timing case		 *BA15.40-P-1001-01F 
15 Remove screw/bolt for ground line on engine support Vehicles without 4MATIC
For removing right-hand engine mount (7)		  
16 Take out engine mount (7) IMPORTANT Always replace engine mount (7) in pairs.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Ensure that the correct installation position is obtained when assembling the engine mount (7).
IMPORTANT Pay attention to environmental protection regulations for disposal of engine mounts (7). Dispose of engine mounts (7) into mixed scrap.		  
17 Detach and remove engine support on cylinder crankcase TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, engine support to crankcase *BA22.10-P-1001-02A 
18 Install in the reverse order
